Our school was one of the participants for the "Orchard of Windmills 2008" art installation at the Istana on 3 August today. 50 of our students were involved in painting and designing the windmills organised by the Singapore Art Museum.
Orchard of Windmills
Comprising of 7,000 windmills, the installation consists of two wing pavilions which direct visitors towards the centre, surrounded by beds of windmills. This direction is towards a cohesive whole as well as a bright future for Singapore.
The core of the installation showers viewers with windmills creating a magical feeling of grandeur. The central pavilion is where different groups of Singaporeans come together and work towards a common goal.
Windmills are planted within these logs to provide a source of hope for Singapore today and the future.
